Hypothetical #MSWL

This weekend I started examining the feasibility of starting a publishing company and support and resources in Germany, and there are LOT. This led me to working out a lot of details around a business model, business plan, growth trajectory.
The question of "if I had my own company and could publish what I want to see in the world" is certainly a fun one! Inspired by many people I know already, also. That makes me wonder actually if I should go ahead and put out this list out there and line up writers in advance. I have three people who I know already have concepts, and I have already confirmed an offer to one of them!

OK! So here is my #MSWL This is an ADULT Publisher. No YA or younger.

Fiction: Do you create a secondary world that has no magic, no magical beasts, and forced to be categorized in fantasy? I want your stories. Do you write cross-genre speculative fiction? I want your stories. What I might call "post-genre speculative fiction" is what I want to highlight as a publisher. Religious beliefs as reality is your magic? Great. Ecological systems of your world create its own species? Great. (If it makes sense to me) You can't get accepted sending your stories to fantasy and sci-fi markets? Send those stories to me! We are going to be creating a community of us, and strengthening this market segment. Think Nina Allen and Claire North. Will be offering Workshops and potential writing retreat for these writers!

Literary Fiction with different perspective. Disabled writers, please inquire about accessibility needs. Show me your creativity!

My degree is in Biology, so I want science based fiction: medical, ecological, research based. Genre is less important.

German voices writing in English about internal German cultural commentary in fiction. Comment about absurd division with pro-Russian propaganda. Give me those cultural narratives in your fiction. Tell the German story from inside Germany instead of people telling Germany what they should think about their story. German guilt - show me how generational guilt is overcome.

Eastern European, Baltic, Slavic voices telling us about your internal culture and stories. Adults who were children in the Iron Curtain. Tell us your perspective in fiction.

English writers from across the globe with a global interest to international English speaking markets. Unlike UK and US Publishers, my first question will NOT be "what will American or British readers want to read?"

WOMEN from countries where they are not allowed to be writers. Women from Iran with life experience about the situation there. Inclusive voices by writers in English about their lives and culture. Fiction and creative non-fiction.

Political and cultural commentary from different points of view: create the commentary about that Elon Musk figure but make it new and fresh.

Fiction Stories featuring women's sexuality as a theme from in a natural personal way, not politicized pov. Black women writing about overcoming conservative or controlling families and finding their own self-worth. Think Kiese Laymaon, Brit Bennett, Sulaman Addonia, Nana Dorkoa, Sekyia Mah.

Example: Kenyan woman living in tiny East German village version of "Year in Provence.

Featured Writers

Confirmed Non-Fiction Contributor: A German writer living in Galilee, married to a Palestinian man and raising biracial children, has joined Three Dragons Press as a non-fiction contributor. Due to the sensitive political climate, she will write anonymously or under a pseudonym, providing quarterly articles on daily life in the region. This inclusion aligns with Three Dragons Press’s mission to amplify diverse voices and offer unique cultural perspectives while ensuring writer safety and authenticity.

If this interests you, keep me in mind and watch this space. I am also looking for an Editor who aligns with this scope and mission.

What I don't want: Magic for the sake of magic. Magical Creatures. Dragons, Werevampzomby. "Magicians/ Wizards/ Witches" Aliens, Mermaids. NO MULTIVERSE. (If you want to write about fate not being determined and having different options as a philosophy, show me an original, creative literary device to achieve that - show me what's post-multiverse)
