Where should I start? Are you a fiction writer? Are you a member of Second Life? Those are two basic things required to participate in this project. Now where did it really start? Well meeting an artist in Wales with that idea, and saying yes let's do it. That's literally where we started! Things have been coming together well, so I am here to let you know all the details?
WHEN? Looks like we will be assembling contributors mainly this summer, but deadline will be no earlier than November.
WHAT? Fiction Collection Anthology. Currently no theme decided. Basing a theme on direction that contributors want to take with their story. The theme will not be a heavy handed one, but one that ties the stories together. All Fiction contributions which do not contain explicit material will be included.
HOW? ISBN supplied already. Ebook and Print on Demand versions to be published. Proceeds will be contributed to SIMs in Second Life supporting writers.
WHO? i feel like I already mentioned this. Must be a member of Second Life to contribute. Contributions must be fiction. Do not need to be published previously. Stories do not need to have any content or themes about second life.
WHY? To promote writers of Second Life. Bios and Links will be included for all contributors.
We have already been invited to speak on YouTube podcast for Second Life Creative Community member: Draxtor https://www.youtube.com/@Draxtor We will be discussing the project in great detail on this show. Currently we already have four women contributors. I have a number of potential stories I could select to contribute, and submissions availability may play a factor. We have an in world office location for people in Second Life to find information. We will have a GRAND OPENING at this virtual location June 29 from 9am-noon Pacific Time. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Book%20Island/239/115/37
My role is co-production and writer liason. Currently I do not intend to be involved in editing, however I am here to help support and guide writer development. Head Editor and Producer is "SnakeAppleTree" an artist and writer in Wales, who will be providing editing for story development. He has spread information notecards across Second Life. We had our first walk-in this weekend, who turned out to be a currently unpublished disabled writer, and this was exactly what we envisioned as we sat down and discussed her story ideas and development with her. Contributors will have a collaborative say in project development. Know someone who might be interested? Send them our way!
I am definitely interested. Send me notecards, if possible, inworld. I am Pieni.
